The recent election campaign in Tamilnadu by all major political parties was contempt to the Indian Democracy. The people of Tamilnadu were lured into false promises everyday.
One might disagree with me for saying false promise – but I love to disbelieve that landless people will get two acres of land; Color TV’s and gas Stoves. The poor peasant has no power at his home – will the so called champion of the poor give Powerless televisions. He has no money to buy kerosene – will the leader give gasless – cooking stoves. The whole manifesto of DMK was a joke which the poor peasant failed to understand. I saw a headline in one of the local daily – “The sun rises in Tamilnadu” – Yes for the business mafia and the rich.
On other had was a Dictator and an individualist chief minister who did things to her will. Who dared to dismiss two lakh striking employees in a democratic country.
The conceited CM never stepped out of her chauffeur driven AC car in five years of her tenure. Punished all those who opposed her – be it her own party men – government official – opposition parties. This was the only state in south India where there was no democracy inside the assembly.
So the common man of the state had no choice than to select between a dictator and a Business don
